NAIROBI, Kenya: We have learnt with profound shock and sadness the sudden demise of Amb/Senator Wilfred Machage, until time of his death, Kenya’s Ambassador to Nigeria.
Dr Machage was without doubt one of the foremost diaspora-friendly, pro-people diplomats Kenya had. The Kenya Diaspora Alliance (KDA) has worked very closely with him at the “VIP Diaspora Forum” to deepen the partnership between progressive Kenyan diplomats, and outstanding diaspora community leaders.
His untimely transition robs us of a key link, at a time when the Africa Diaspora Alliance (AfDA Inc, USA), KDA and other major African diaspora formations were working in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) to host the 2nd Africa Diaspora Summit (ADS-2022) in Abuja, Nigeria. He shall be greatly missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Kenya, Government of Nigeria, Family, Relatives, Friends, the larger Kenyan fraternity and indeed the wider African diaspora community.
